What People Are Saying About Dave's Service
“I have had all four of my guitars and my bass worked on by Dave. They are all great as a result. Listen to them at www.pam-n-me.com . Everyone I ever recommend Dave to have had nothing but glowing things to say. Dave is the best!” – Jim Gallagher, songwriter, producer, former chief engineer for Gamble and Huff’s Philadelphia International Records’ Studio, free-lance audio engineer for Michael Sembello and Stevie Wonder.
“Dave has been a blessing to me, and I HIGHLY recommend that ALL guitar players within the scope of this comment check him out. Every true guitar player needs someone who can personally relate to your playing style and performance well being. Dave Fecca is mine. I will contact him before going to ANYONE else, and hopefully you will too. Those of you who know me realize that I do a LOT of gigging, and I also do a lot of BIG gigs. Dave Fecca is my man for my guitar, and if you are smart you will get with him too. Thanks, Dave, for being there… ” – Brett Jolly, Bassist who has performed with artists such as Aretha Franklin, Janet Jackson, Gerald Levert, James Ingram, and Chubby Checker.
“Dave set up my 88 Strat and my 77 P Bass. Dave Fecca was recommended to me by a friend a few years back to set up my strat. It’s never been better. Plays like a charm. Recently before a tour I decided to pull out the old P Bass and realized it needed some of the Fecca magic. It’s a joy to play again, Thanks Dave! Nice guy, good hands, cool shoes. ” – Jeff Otto, The Boris Garcia Band.
The Evolution of a Craftsman
“I treat my customers, the way I would like to be treated as a consumer.” –Dave Fecca
Playing guitar, led to working on guitars as a teenager. Dave’s fine tuned eye for precision was further developed working as a machine operator, machining parts to specifications within tolerances of “thousands of an inch.”
Following a two year guitar repair apprenticeship in Chestnut Hill, Pennsylvania with lifelong professional repairman Bob Zatzman, Dave then worked as a guitar technician at Ibanez Guitars for four years. (Fun trivia fact: his photo is included on page 258 of the book “Ibanez – The Untold Story.”) Inspecting, refining his skills, focusing on quality specifications and playability set the foundation for his quality standards.
Dave also tested and wrote reviews for guitar parts and products that were published on the online webzine “All Things Guitar.”
A later violin repair apprenticeship, working in a prestigious classical instrument restoration shop, further developed his craftsmanship and precision. A highlight from that period includes hand carving violin pegs, sound posts and peg boxes, including fine attention to a violin from 1745. Dave brings these honed skills and professionalism to his craft.
Dave Fecca Guitar Repair was officially established and licensed in 2003. Dave’s thoroughness and individualized customer service has led to his servicing of thousands of instruments and continued customer satisfaction…
As Dave always says, “I treat my customers, the way I would like to be treated as a consumer.”
